In recent decades, debates about monuments have become more intense. Some argue that removing statues erases history, others claim it encourages a more accurate understanding of the past. These discussions show that culture is not fixed; it is continuously negotiated, and it shapes how societies remember, celebrate, and criticise earlier periods.
